Responsible for supporting and enhancing Eastlink's internal and external web properties, the Software Engineer Student will experience the software development process within Eastlink by collaborating with the web development team to provide assistance on projects from inspiration through to implementation and maintenance stages.

Responsibilities:
- Working within the software team to support various software and product releases
- Developing new features for our public and internal business tools, including back-end administration features
- Gaining knowledge of project tools and processes, like GIT, JIRA, Confluence, Agile Scrum, and others
- Writing guides and wikis to document current and new processes
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education institution focused in Computer Science, or Information Technology related field
- Desire to develop engineering skills in software development
- Understanding and interest in applying software process to solve business problems
- Problem-solving and creative solution-building skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with any of ( C#, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Vue.js, MS SQL / MySQL, WordPress)
- Ability to contribute effectively to team-working and group discussions
- The successful candidate must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 upon hire, subject to Federal Human rights law.
